Senior Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister Senator Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has said that all chehlum processions of Imam Hussain (RA) are important and sensitive in nature, therefore, best possible security should be provided to them without distinction of category to avert any unpleasant incident from taking place.
Presiding over a high level meeting held here to review security arrangements for the chehlum processions, Zulfiqar said that no laxity in security arrangements would be tolerated at any cost and all departments concerned should coordinate completely so that the provision of effective security to all processions could be made possible.
Zulfiqar ordered the authorities concerned to provide yellow lights to the processions to be used in case there was fog. He also ordered that load shedding should not be carried out in the areas holding processions and gatherings. He ordered the Home Secretary to immediately get a detailed report of security arrangements made in this regard from all District Coordination Officers (DCOs), Regional Police Officers (RPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs).
The meeting also discussed various proposals for the suspension of mobile phone services during the time of chehlum processions. Zulfiqar said that the DCOs would decide the issue of banning pillion riding according to the requirements of their respective districts.
