Actor Jack Klugman, who
made up the sloppy half of
the popular “Odd Couple,” has died. Klugman, who also starred in the original film version of “12 Angry Men,” died Monday
at his home in Northridge, Calif. Klugman
won two Emmy awards for his portrayal of sloppy and careless New York sportswriter
Oscar Madison. He went on to star
in the television series Quincy, M.E., in which he played a medical examiner. The other
half of the Odd Couple, Tony Randall,
who portrayed the finicky photographer
Felix Unger, died in 2004 at the age of 84. Klugman also performed in the original Broadway production of The Odd Couple as a replacement for Walter Matthau.
