Lal Masjid Naib Khateeb Maulana Amir Siddique has said those imparting moral lessons on TV channels are eating into the ethical fabric of society.
In a press release issued here on Sunday, he said unless the prevailing system in the country was updated in the light of recommendations of the Council for Islamic Ideology, education system, academic syllabus was evolved in line with the teachings of Quran and Sunnah, Islamic social justice was enforced and procedure for equitable distribution of wealth was worked out, the problems facing the country would stand unresolved.
He alleged that Absar Alam a so-called journalist and anchorperson was working for promotion of homosexuality in the country under the banner of Open Society Foundation. “Our moral values, traditions and family system are being undermined in the name of liberalism,” he warned.
“I appeal to Supreme Court to take suo motu notice of immoral activities being perpetuated by this anchor person in a hotel so that the people could become aware how terribly the elements who are championing the cause of morality on TV channels are playing with the moral norms of the society,” he maintained.
