Our prime minister has climbed new heights in corruption, the latest one being to get his son-in-law appointed as Director of World Bank in Pakistan. It is reported that he got his son-in-law promoted from grade 18 to grade 21 by a series of quick promotions as additional secretary in federal government and using it as a launching pad catapulted him as Director of World Bank in Pakistan. There are scores of grade 21 officers in the federal government and this choice appears to be openly questionable.
The Supreme Court has duly taken notice of the case which is commendable. It has become the hallmark of Pakistan Peoples Party to cooperate in historic scams, like the OGDC Director General fleeing the country in the wake of a scam of billions of rupees of public money.
