The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) will arrange a ceremony to inaugurate classes for Ordinary and Advanced Levels (O and A levels) and the ‘Yellow Buses Scheme’ today (Thursday).
Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf will inaugurate the classes and the scheme at the IslamabadModelCollege for Boys (IMCB) F-8/4, an FDE official said.
The launch of O and A level classes for ModelCollege for Girls (IMCG) I-10/4 and IMCB F-8/4 is a historic step.
This will enhance the compatibility of public and private institutions of the capital through open competition at an international level, the official said. Students in public institutes will now be able to acquire O and A level education at par with private institutions at low cost through this scheme, he added.
The official said the ‘Yellow Buses Scheme’ to make all school buses uniform in the colour for safety purposes. The colour would help signal the importance of the buses in emergency and help keep children secure, he added.
The Ministry of Capital Administration and Development and FDE had made diligent efforts to uplift the standard of education in the capital and outstanding results at board and university levels had been achieved at curricular and co-curricular levels, the official said.
