NAB to start inquiry against Chairman BPSC

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) decided to initiate probe against Chairman Balochistan Public Service Commission on the charges of nepotism, corruption and misuse of authority in some 800 appointments from BPS-16 to BPS-18.
The meeting of executive board of NAB was held at headquarters on Tuesday , which was presided over by its Chairman Admiral(R) Fasih Bukhari.
The meeting observed that Chairman Balochistan Public Service Commission sold the posts of Head Mistresses (BPS-17) for Rs 1.7 million and the slot of Assistant Commissioners for Rs 4.0 million each without observing merit and depriving poor of their basic rights.
The Board also decided to refer another case to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) against four former Directors of Bank of Punjab (BoP) so that a reference could be filed with NAB through Governor SBP. In the case the accused persons violated rules and regulations and obtained hefty loans from the bank.
The Board also decided to close four inquiries for want of incrementing evidence against Rana Zahid Ashraf, CEO GEPCO Nawaz Ali Samejo, Ex-Chief Engineer, WAPDA. Yousaf Khattak, Ex-DG of Farm Water Management Agriculture Department, Peshawar and Qamar Hussain, President National Bank of Pakistan.
