Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday vowed to bring a genuine representation for women in the national assembly through direct election. Addressing a seminar on the topic of “Justice for Women”, the PTI chairman said he was against the concept of reserved seats for women, as the women elected on these seats did not represent their lot in the assembly.”What is the educational qualification of the present members,” he asked. Khan said he would declare emergency in the country regarding female education and courts would be set up in villages to protect the rights of women. “People will themselves run schools and dispensaries and midwives will be provided proper training,” he pledged, adding he would increase the budget for education to 5 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
