The Rawalpindi Land Revenue Department has not been able find the land record of 32 patwar circles of rural and urban areas for computerisation process of land revenue data.
Officials of the department informed that naib tehsildar Ghulam Abbas and tehsildar Malik Nawaz Khan were responsible for providing the land revenue record. Land record of Rawalpindi One and Basali circles was still missing, while the record of the circles of revenue officers Malik Shoaib and Khalid Kamal, and Malik Nawaz had been forwarded to the computerisation department.
According to the Land Revenue Department officials, the biggest hurdle in the computerisation of the land revenue data was non-availability of complete data, as all the manual records of the department were stored in a very poor condition. Moreover, it was also alleged that some influential people in the department were hindering the computerisation of land records as the chances of corruption would become nil in such a situation.
