Despite release of funds and closure of several trains, Pakistan Railways were unable to control delay in train operations. According to Railway Inquiry, almost all trains including 9-Up Allama Iqbal, 7-Up Night Coach, 1-Up Khyber Mail Express, 13-Up Awam Express, 37-Up train and other passenger trains were behind schedule for hours. Railway sources said the situation could not improve for at least three months until repaired locomotives become operational.
