Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad Police has arrested ten persons for their alleged involvement in pilfering petroleum products, selling them in open market without permission and also recovered diesel and petrol worth Rs. 2,70,000 from them, a police spokesman said on Thursday.
According to details, special teams were constituted under supervision of SP (Investigation) Mustansar Feroz and DSP Zubiar Sheikh. These teams also including Sub-Inspectors Shamas ul Akbar, Saleem Ullah and others raided in the areas of various police stations and recovered petrol and diesel worth Rs.2,70,000 from them. These teams arrested Sohail Afsar, Riaz and Naseem Khan from Sabzi Mandi police area and recovered diesel worth Rs. 53,000 from them while Irfan and Mushtaq were arrested from Tarnol area besides recovery of diesel worth Rs. 40,000 from them.
Similarly, the special teams arrested Ehsan Ullah s/o Muhammad Mukhtiar for having 230 liter stolen petrol while Rizwan Abass s/o Zaafran Abbass were arrested for having stolen diesel worth Rs. 47,000.
Likewise, Kashif was arrested from Tarnol area besides recovery of stolen diesel worth Rs. 38,000 while Babar Hussain, Tariq Habib and Babar Sultan were arrested in possession of 400 liter diesel and 200 liter petrol . Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them.
IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Yaseen Farooq have appreciated this performance of CIA police team and directed to intensify vigilance against such elements involved in these practices.
