Difah-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) on Tuesday announced that it would organise a protest march from Mall Road to Wagah border on December 16 against awarding India the title of the most favored country. It also announced that a peace conference would be held on December 17 against target killings in Karachi. DPC further said that an all-parties conference against the target killings and insecurity in Karachi would be held on December 30.
DPC chairman Maulana Samiul Haq made this announcement at a press conference after a meeting of the Central Council of DPC. At the conference, the DPC leaders said that Pakistan was passing through a very difficult time.
They said that it was shameful that even religious leaders had become targets of violence.
They criticised the rulers for not playing a strong role in curbing the security crisis in the country. They not the religious, but US and India were a danger to the nation.
They further said that DPC would not form an election alliance, saying that DPC was a forum for the defence of the country and it would continue to play that role.
