Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Dr Sok An on Monday left for home after visiting Pakistan at the special invitation of Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) senior central leader and Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi. During his farewell meeting with Shujat Hussain and Parvez Elahi, the Cambodian deputy prime minister said that he was very impressed by the passion of the two leaders for service for the to elimination of poverty, illiteracy and unemployment and provision of best possible facilities to the common man. Dr Sok An appreciated the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation and expressed his gratitude to both leaders. He said added that there was a great scope for opportunities in different fields between the two countries. After arrival here from Islamabad along with his 10-members delegation, the Cambodian guest inaugurated consulate of his country on Zahoor Elahi Road, held talks with Shujat Hussain and Parvez Elahi and visited places of historical interests. The two deputy prime ministers also held talks on different matters including industrial, economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries. Parvez Elahi apprised Dr Sok An about record development works for welfare and well-being of the people undertaken during his tenure as chief minister in Punjab. Dr Sok An said that he was impressed by the successful development programmes and projects of the PML-Q government in Punjab which have been appreciated by the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and other international organizations. He expressed the hope that cooperation in different fields would increase between the two countries. Deputy Prime Minister Dr Sok An formally inaugurated the Consulate of Cambodia and hoisted the flag of his country and praised the services of Honourary Consul General Salik Hussain.
