Rawalpindi DCO Saqib Zafar said that the Rawalpindi District Government was going to launch an operation against smoking after the month of Muharram. Action would be taken against ‘Sheesha-bars’ and the display of oversized catchy advertisements in cigarette-shops. A meeting presided by Zafar was held in this regard. Health EDO Dr Zafar Iqbal Gondal, Education EDO Qazi Zahoor-ul-Haq, Headquarters SP Saood Raza, Dr Javed, Dr Aftab and several others participated in the meeting as well. Dr Aftab said that Sheesha smoking was injurious to health and smoking in public places had been banned, violation of which was a crime.
