Sindh Chief Secretary Raja Muhammad Abbas has asked all the provincial departments to submit their progress reports to the Sindh advocate general within two days positively regarding implementation status under the directions of Supreme Court, pertaining to the apex court’s suo moto notice of the law and order situation in the metropolis.
Presiding over a high-level meeting here, the chief secretary advised Additional Chief Secretary Home Wasim Ahmed and IG Police Fayyaz Leghari to ensure coordinated efforts for improving law and order situation in collaboration with relevant departments, specifically the prosecution services and law departments.
Abbas asked for a report for pending issues of prosecution from Prosecutor General and IG Prisons within two days.
The meeting reviewed the issues with particular reference of Sindh advocate general office, regarding illegal immigration of foreigners, illegalities/mismanagement in motor-registration wing of the excise and taxation department; traffic congestion faced by the Karachiites, motor vehicles fitness, playing of vehicles (applied for registration), day to day target killings in the city, investigation reports/challans in court of laws, various issues of police institutions, food poisoning in police training centers, release of convict prisons on parole and under trail prisoners release on parole, non-bailable warrants, land-grabbing activities, matters pertaining to the Election Commission/Exercise of Delimitation compensation of deceased (lawyers/ordinary citizens and police Shuhada), appointment of prosecutors in anti-terrorism courts and other issues.
