The British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Adam Thomson, said that UK was lobbying for granting Pakistan GSP Plus status which would sanction increased exports of Pakistan to the United Kingdom and the European Union.
Thomson was of addressing students of IBA Karachi at the university’s Centre for Executive Education. Responding to a question by a student enrolled in MBA Programme, the Envoy stated that the military and economic relationship between Pakistan and UK were comprehensive and time tested. Thomson also highlighted the assistance of the Department for International Development (DFID) to the education sector of Pakistan. The High Commissioner entered into informal discussions with students and members of faculty over lunch which was scheduled after his address.
