29 stolen cars, fake currency and valuables over Rs 3.7m seized

Crime Investigation Agency and Anti-Car Lifting Cell of Islamabad Police arrested 113 persons during the last month for their alleged involvement in robberies, snatching and lifting vehicles and fraudulent activities. The Police recovered 29 cars, stolen items worth Rs 37,00,000, two motorbikes, 23 pistols and gold ornaments from their possession.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Inspector General Bani Amin Khan said that SP (Investigation) Mustansar Hussain Feeroz was assigned the special task to resolve crime cases of heinous nature.
He along with various police teams including DSP Zubair Ahmed Sheikh,
Sub-Inspectors Asghar Ali Bhatti, Shamas ul Akbar, Zulfiqar Ahmed, Muhammad Ali, Gulzar Ahmed, ASIs Tariq Rauf, Zafar Iqbal, Riaz Macon, Syed Haider Ali Shah, Abdul Hafeez, Javed Iqbal and others worked day and night to accomplish the task and busted five criminal gangs for their involvement in burglaries, car theft, selling diesel and petrol of official vehicles, possessing fake foreign currency and drug peddling activities.
CIA Police teams recovered gold ornaments, Rs 3,76,000 in cash, three stolen vehicles, two motorbikes, laptops, computer, amplifiers, digital cameras, televisions, eight mobile phones, generator, UPS, mobile cards, 845 liter diesel, 230 liters, fake US dollars, 25 fake driving and weapon license, 23 pistols, 3.675 kilogram hashish, 432 wine bottles, 650 liquor bottles, seven drums of liquor and 12 cartons of beer from these nabbed persons.
Meanwhile, teams of Anti-Car Lifting Cell of Islamabad Police headed by DSP Rukhsar Mehdi arrested 33 car lifters and recovered 26 stolen cars from them worth millions of rupees.
Out of these 26 stolen cars, eight cars had been lifted from jurisdictions of various police stations of Islamabad.
