WB happy with Punjab’s development

World Bank Country Director Rachid Ben Messauod on Thursday called on Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in Islamabad and discussed ongoing economic and development activities in Punjab.
The chief minister informed the country director about the steps taken by the government for development projects of education, health, energy, besides promotion of economic and investment in the province. The chief minister said that Punjab government is implementing a comprehensive programme of development, the basic objective of which is to bring improvement in the lives of the people. He said that World Bank is sponsoring Punjab government in many projects and the role of World Bank regarding rehabilitation of flood-hit people, increase in facilities in education and health was commendable. Director Rachid Ben Messauod said that even in the critical conditions, the pace of development work under the leadership of Shahbaz was encouraging. He said that World Bank will continue cooperation with Punjab government in future.
