As election days are approaching nearer and the tone and pitch of the politicians are rising, let me give them some simple code of ethics for them to follow:
Do not attack institutions in the country such as Army, SC, ECP, etc in your speeches.
Try not to attack individuals and their past.
Talk about people’s welfare and betterment in simple and understandable way. Do not say a word against the country, its integrity or its security.
Desist from talking on foreign alliances, pacts, understanding or anything that can deter international relations. Use decent language and decent style (even if it has to be temporarily) so that families can see and hear them. Make some nice gestures and facial expressions when talking about sensitive matters related to politicians, opposition or the man on the street. And lastly, stop using accusatory sentences about projects and people.
That applies to male and female anchors in TV channels also. This practice will reveal their worth more than ‘filmy’ style and language. Mazhar Shah and Sultan Rahi are a history in Pakistan.
