CCPO orders enquiry against DSP over abuse of power

Capital City Police Officer and Add IG Muhammad Aslam Tareen ordered a high level enquiry against DSP Chuhng, Nasir Bajwa, for gross abuse of power on Sunday.
Official sources said that the CCPO had appointed Sadar Investigation SP Muntazir Mehdi as enquiry officer and directed to submit report within a couple of days.
It was brought to the notice of CCPO that Nasir Bajwa had not observed standard procedure in getting a Rs 4 million case registered with the Nawab Town Police Station. Bajwa had also failed to contact both the parties involved.
The DSP sent his reader to the police station along with the complainant, an owner of a feed mill and ordered the SHO to register the case and arrest the accused who was stated to be an owner of a poultry farm and had a business dispute with the feed owner over the supply of sub-standard feed and poor quality chicks that had caused millions of rupees in loss.
The owner of the feed farm had greased the palms of the owner to get a case registered.
The CCPO asked the investigation officer to not arrest the owner of the poultry farm and to conduct a fair investigation.
When contacted, SHO Mian Qadeer said that per instructions, in an 489 F dispute both parties were always summoned so that they could present their point of view and a report was submitted to the SP for further probe before the case was registered.
It may be mentioned here the CCPO had already issued instructions to all DIGs, SSP, Operation, Investigation wings,DSPs and Inspectors that no case would be registered under section 489 F unless it was approved by the SP concerned in order to ensure administration of justice to all.
