Jail officials have handed over the data of the cellular phone recovered from Dr Shakil Afridi to spy agencies.
A few days ago, a satellite phone was recovered from Dr Afridi in Peshawar Central Jail.
The doctor helped the US track down former al Qaeda chief Osama Bin Ladin through a fake vaccination campaign.
The PTA and other relevant organisations provided the data of the satellite phone that revealed that Dr Afridi made a total of 58 calls from jail, of which 22 were to numbers in the US, 15 to the UK and 21 were domestic calls.
The people Afridi talked to over the phone have been included in the investigation.
After receiving the record, spy agencies have expanded the sphere of the probe and some government officials are also being questioned in this regard.
The investigators also put the names of some people on the Exist Control List (ECL).
A source said the federal government had agreed with the proposal of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to shift Dr Afridi from Central Jail Peshawar, however, his transfer to another jail would be kept top secret.
