The Islamabad Bar Association (IBA) on Saturday observed a complete strike in protest against the brutal killing of Syed Shakir Ali Rizvi near the Lahore High Court (LHC).
While talking to agencies, IBA General Secretary, Chaudhry Muhammad Ayyub Arbab Gujjar said that the IBA felt deep sorrow on the murder of its colleague and demanded that stern action should be taken against the culprits immediately.
He also condemned the withdrawal of medical facility provided to the legal fraternity by the Punjab government, even though the LHC and the IHC (Islamabad High Court) had given verdicts in the lawyers’ favor.
The general secretary urged the Punjab government to implement the LHC and IHC verdicts in letter and spirit so that the lawyer community could benefit from this facility.
