Four robbers among eight killed in Karachi

At least eight people including four robbers were killed in separate firing incidents in different areas of the city on Saturday. The police and Rangers during separate search operations and raids took into custody several suspects and recovered arms from their possession.
According to details, unidentified armed motorcyclists shot at and killed a man in Korangi Town area, Zaman Town police station jurisdiction and fled away. The body was shifted to hospital where identity of the deceased was ascertained as Aqeel.
Irfan, 40, who was injured in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of Orangi Town during firing incident, succumbed to his wounds in the hospital.
The police recovered a bullet riddled and tortured dead body of a man packed in gunny bag from Nursery area near society office. The body was shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities where identity of the deceased was yet to be confirmed.
Police found dead body of an unidentified person from Kala Pul area of the city.
Four robbers were killed while their two cohorts managed to escape during a shoot-out with the police near Disco Bakery in Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
The police on a tip off approached a house located in Gulshan-e-Iqbal where six robbers break into and were busy in looting the residents at gun point.
The robbers when alarmed about arrival of police at the scene resisted and started firing in an attempt to escape from the scene. In retaliatory firing of police robbers were killed while two managed to flee.
Meanwhile, firing incidents continued in different areas of the city including Lyari, Shah Faisal Colony, Nazimabad, Sohrab Goth and North Karachi during which eight people were reported injured. The injured were shifted to different hospitals of concerned areas.
The police and Rangers during separate targeted search operations and raids in Baldia Yousaf Goth, Macchar Colony of Kimari and other areas arrested 10 criminals and recovered arms, mobile phones, cash and other looted valuables from their possession.
