Describing the Taliban attack on 14-year-old Malala Yousufzai as ‘un-Islamic’, chairman Sunni Ittehad Council Sahabzada Fazal Karim on Monday urged the government to start a decisive military operation in North Waziristan.
He was addressing hundreds of supporters at Multan railway station while leading Karachi-Rawalpindi “Tahafuz-e-Namoos-e-Risalat” train march.
The march commenced from Karachi Cantt station on Sunday evening.
“We condemn this cowardly attack on an innocent girl. It was un-Islamic act by Taliban militants,” SIC chief said, demanding army operation against Taliban and other militant groups in North Waziristan tribal agency.
The religious alliance leader also urged the government to mobilize Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) members for anti-blasphemy legislation.
