I found Dr Bhatti’s letter, ‘Duplicity on drone attacks’, on Oct 10 a bit perplexing wherein he has bluntly blamed the government for drone attacks on Pakistan’s tribal areas. We all know that Americans are not using drones just for fun; they are there to target the Taliban and Al-Qaeda terrorists. Yes, there is collateral damage during the drone attacks, but what about the aerial bombardment by Pakistan air force on Taliban hideouts; we never hear any hue and cry on our forces bombardment. What about 40,000 civilians and military personnel killed by Taliban, they don’t fall under collateral damage but are intentional killing/murder.
