‘Zardari should stop fantasizing about Obama’s support;

President Asif Ali Zardari should not remain under the delusion that US President Barack Obama and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will again put him on the pedestal of presidency, PTI Chairman Imran Khan said on Wednesday. Addressing a press conference, Khan said, “Zardari is mistaken if he thinks that Obama and Hillary Clinton will help elect him for the second term in the presidential office. This country is for our people, its destiny is in their hands and they will decide about it, not Obama or Hillary.” Citing a report of an American university, he said the report reflected that 80 percent of the victims of drone strikes were innocent and the attacks took place with the blessings of the government of Pakistan. “Our government is collaborating with the US on the matter of drone attacks. Our government is hypocrite and the rulers have sabotaged the peace of the country to please the US,” Khan alleged. “I appeal to the people to join our peace march and raise their voice against drone strikes as they are taking place in collusion with our government”, he said. To a question, he said only ideological people had jointed the PTI and they benefited the party through their experiences.
Referring to Zardari’s address at the UN General Assembly, Khan said, “Zardari should have made that statement before the people of Pakistan. But it is a matter of regret that when the country faces trying times, Zardari goes abroad.”
