The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, while talking to a delegation of the Tandlianwala Bar Association headed by Mehar Allahyar Sial on Wednesday at the Supreme Court (SC) building, has urged the legal fraternity to unite all their efforts to actualize the vision of expeditious and inexpensive justice.
Extolling the services rendered by the legal fraternity for their profession and for establishing the rule of law in society, the CJP said that “Bars” played a vital role for the cause of independence of judiciary, supremacy of constitution and the rule of law in the country. Their services and sacrifices would always be remembered and would be guiding the new generations to stand by the judiciary in times of need, he added.
The delegation appreciated the role and commitment shown by the superior judiciary, especially by the CJP to take revolutionary steps within the bounds of the Constitution for the betterment of the judiciary and the eradication of corruption from the profession. They also praised the efforts and struggle of the CJP for enhancing public confidence in the judiciary.
The members of the bar also assured their full support and co-operation to bring about improvements in the dispensation of justice to the common man.
Later, they invited the CJP to visit the Tandlianwala Bar and he accepted the offer.
