It is an astonishing fact that every year our universities grant a number of degrees to our students but we could not perform remarkably in scientific and social research yet. It is because our examination system is not flawless. First of all, our examination system does not based upon conceptual study. Students read and remember some important questions that are enough for getting high score in exam.
Second weakness, perhaps the major weakness, belongs to the marking criteria of the papers. Universities take papers and send them to the relevant teachers for marking. For this, teachers are paid about forty five rupees per paper by the concerned university. Instead of marking the papers by themselves, the honourable teachers allotted these papers to their favourite students who mark the papers. In this way, sometimes a student of master degree marks the papers of master degree. Besides, these students are ordered not to give score above than a fixed level. The result of such marking is that the lazy and the talented students almost get the same score.
I requested to all the concerned authorities, particularly Higher Education Commission, to initiate the procedure of table marking, marking at a fixed place under the supervision of an honest officer, for private students of Master degrees.
Otherwise, we will produce a number of Master degree holders who can’t inculcate the true spirit of education even into a single student.
