Labour organizations observe mourning day across Balochistan

All Pakistan Labour Federation (APLF) and Labour Confederation of Pakistan (LCP) observed mourning day Thursday over the loss of more than 300 workers of the Karachi-Lahore factory’s deadliest inferno incident.
APLF and LCP worker staged a protest in front of the Quetta press club against the incidents.
Addressing the protestors President of the Federation Sultan Muhammad Khan and APLF’s provincial chairman Shah Ali Bugti and others strongly condemned the bloody incident of Karachi-Lahore factory fire and have demanded of the government to conduct a judicial inquiry into the incidents and award strict punishments to the responsible ones.
They termed the Karachi-Lahore factory inferno incidents a ‘national disaster’ and said that due to non-implementation of labour laws and inadequate policies such incidents occurred which took hundreds of precious lives.
The speakers claimed that there is no example across the world where precautionary arrangements are not ensured in order to safeguard the lives of hundreds of labors working in factories.
The federation condemned the negligence over non-implementation of labour laws, safety of life, registration of labors in labor-welfare organizations.
