I have challenged the appointment of one additional candidate from ICT (as out of 9 maximum of 5 candidates could be selected against quota of 50% reserved for ICT) who has been given the unfilled quota of Balochistan, against merit, transparency and rule of law. My contention is that the unfilled quota must be filled through open merit amongst rest of the candidates, rather arbitrarily as in the instant case. The matter is pending adjudication before Islamabad High Court (IHC), where the respondent (Registrar IHC) has been issued notice on 24-09-2012 to appear on next date of hearing.
