Gold worth Rs 500,000 goes missing from bank locker

Gold worth more than Rs 500,000 went missing from a locker in the Main Market Lahore branch of Habib Bank Limited on Tuesday, City42 reported. According to the channel, Chaudhry Muhammad Hanif, resident of Canal Bank, said his daughter Hira Hanif got a locker with the bank in March this year. He said when Hira went to operate her locker on Tuesday, she discovered that the gold ornaments she had kept in the locker for safekeeping, were no longer there. Hanif claimed the bank staff was involved in the robbery. Police have registered an FIR on Hanif’s request and arrested three bank officials.

  1. On Aug 19, 2012 more than 100 M worth of valuables were looted from MCB Siemens chowrangi branch, in which there is strong possibility that the branch staff is involved. But still as always it happens in Pakistan no one was brought to task and only the customers suffered. till today neither the compensation has been paid nor committed.
    MCB still shows off with bank for life whereas in actual it has causes misery for numerous families affectees of this incident.
    Don’t know when the chief justice will notice this as he is the only savior of common Pakistanis.
