Textile Minister Makhdoom Shahabuddin on Monday filed a plea in the Supreme Court seeking pre-arrest bail in the ephedrine quota case. In his application, Shahubuddin said he was being subjected to political vendetta. He argued that ephedrine case was registered by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on October 10 but nine months later, proceedings were suddenly initiated against him just a day before his nomination as a candidate for the office of prime minister.
Subsequently, an arrest warrant was also issued, he added. The minister said a conspiracy was being hatched against him. Shahabuddin and Musa Gilani, son of former premier Yousaf Raza Gilani, were declared absconders last week.
It's really a pity: ephedrine can be at the same time one of the best medicine for cold and and asthma but unfortunately also a drug precursor for methamphetamine.
Millions of law-abiding people can be deprived of their treatment because of a minority of corrupted people and drug addicts… With a group of friends, mainly doctors, we have tried to consider all aspects of this issue and we have summarized our own point of view about the legal aspects of ephedrine here: http://ephedrinewheretobuy.com/prescription-for-e…
Our hope would be that the pharmaceutical industry could produce ephedrine in a chemical form that could not be used as drug precursor.
