Pakistani research work appreciated world wide: HEC

Executive Director Higher Education Commission (HEC) Dr Sohail H Naqvi has said that research publications of Pakistani students were competing international standards.
He said the HEC was taking steps for further improvement of research work in the country because the ranking of universities were made on the basis of research field according to the international standards.
Talking to Pakistan Television (PTV), he said that HEC was following the ranking given by an institution of USA who decides that which research publication was according to the international standards.
He said the HEC allowed universities to give degrees to the institutions which meet the required standards. He said that there was a criterion for the inspection of the institutions in various elements including faculty, libraries, infrastructure, internet connectivity and grounds.
He said that HEC preferred research work related to the issues of Pakistan as ‘Wheat Rust’ a disease affecting wheat production in all over the world, agriculture students were making research on the particular virus and how to protect from it.
Replying to a question about the standard of publications, he said that researches of the students were publishing in local and international journals, adding that HEC also improving the standards of local journals to compete with international journals.

  1. I do not know if it’s just me or if everybody else experiencing problems with your blog. It appears as though some of the written text in your posts are running off the screen.
