Karachi Electric Supply Company on Monday replaced a faulty Masjid-e-Tayyeba PMT in Liaquatabad on the assurance of local notables over recovery of all outstanding dues of over Rs 10 million.
KESC had issued several notices to the defaulting consumers for payment of dues but no positive response had been received. A total of 469 residential consumers are connected to the 500 KVA PMT against which an accumulated amount of Rs 10,838,955 is payable. Loss of electricity from this PMT is over 54 per cent. On Monday, the local notables and elected representatives had had a detailed meeting with KESC officials and they promised an early recovery of the longstanding amount after which the PMT was replaced.
