This refers to laptop scheme initiated by the Punjab government. The chief minister had promised to award laptops to evening students as voices had been raised why they were not being given laptops. “I assure all our merit scholars enrolled in evening programs that nobody will deprive them of this award of laptops. Once all morning students have been awarded laptops, distribution to evening students will then commence,” CM had said. Evening students in Institute of Communication Studies, University of Punjab are still missing laptops. Even the toppers could not get what to speak of other students meeting with criteria. Students allege that the govt had given laptops to its hand-picked ones. It betrays the CM’s education friendly policy for young students. What could be the feelings of one if one is assured to be awarded with a laptop and then denied? Khadim-e-Aala Punjab is requested to fulfil his words and bestow all evening students coming on the merit with laptops.
