At least three people were killed and seven others sustained injures when a pickup over turned due to over loading in Bannu district, police and rescue officials said.
The officials said the pickup moving towards Dhomail from Peshawar over turned when its tie rod broke due to over loading. They said three people died at the spot while seven others injured.
“The injured bodies have been shifted to District Head Quarter (DHQ) hospital,” they said.
Pakistan’s roads are highly dangerous as the traffic laws and safety are widely flouted, and uneducated drivers typically don’t have knowledge about the traffic rules, they further commented.
2 killed in road accident: Two motorcyclists were killed in a road accident here on Sunday, officials said.
According to local police, the accident took place at Indus Highway where a speedy truck crushed two motorcyclists to death. Ghulam Mustafa, 20, and Shaban were killed on the spot.
Driver of the truck tried to flee from the scene but he was caught by local people and handed over to police.
Protesters blocked the highway against the incident that caused traffic jam for a while.
