Lawyers’ delegations call on CJP

On the sidelines of law conference hosted by Sukkur High Court Bar Association, Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary met various delegations of lawyers’ bodies. The president and the cabinet of the Sindh High Court Bar Sukkur Bench called upon the chief justice of Pakistan and discussed various issues of mutual legal interest. Representatives of District Bars from Larkana, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Mirpur Khas, Obaro, Sanghar, Dadu, Ghotki, Sukkur, Shahdad Kot, Jacobbabad, Kallar Kot and Khairpur also called upon the chief justice of Pakistan and discussed various issues being faced by them. These delegations informed the chief justice that due to increased litigation, there is a dire need to have more judges at the district level. They also stated that many vacancies of the judges were lying vacant in various districts in the province of Sindh which was causing problems to the litigants. The chief justice said that relevant authorities will be contacted to resolve these outstanding issues.
