Federal Investigations Agency (FIA) after interrogation allowed 500 Pakistanis deported from Oman to go to their homes here on Friday. It should be mentioned that about 500 Pakistanis deported from Oman arrived at Ghass Bander Kemari Karachi on Thursday night.
They belonged to different cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, Sindh and Punjab. They were jailed around three months ago by Oman police.
The released persons talking to media said that they gave Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000 to the agents to go abroad and earn for their families but the dream did not turn into a good reality as they were taken into custody by Oman authorities and jailed for having illegal documents.
Al-Khidmat provides relief items to 567 deported Pakistanis: Al-khidmat Welfare Society Karachi has received 567 Pakistanis deported from Masqat and Oman at Karachi port and provided them food and medical treatment here on Friday.
It is pertinent to mention here that victims of human trafficking had reached a day earlier in Pakistani waters, but were refrained from accommodation at the port due to Eid vacations. Miserable people at boat contacted Al-Khidmat secretary Eng Abdul Aziz and appraised him about the situation. Aziz approached authorities and media over the issue. Resultantly, the boat was allowed to be anchored at the port on Friday morning.
On the occasion, a medical camp was setup and 567 people were facilitated with relief items, food and medical treatment. Abdul Aziz, while talking to media said that Al-Khidmat is determined to provide suffering humanity with relief. He said that the yacht had to be at Karachi but all the 567 Pakistanis were remained deprived of Eid’s jubilation due to incapability of Pakistani consulate and foreign affairs department. He further said that all the onboard passengers were in a miserable condition as they were facing acute shortage of food and water.
He vowed that Al-Khidmat would continue its efforts and welfare activities with the help of its voluntaries and philanthropists.
On the occasion victims of human trafficking overwhelmingly thanked Al-Khidmat for its support and cooperation.
