Lahore: ‘A nomad woman hoists the national flag on her small tent-home at a roadside on 12-8-12.’ So depicts a sizeable photograph on the front page the other day, conveying the best of unity, faith and discipline. The flag was much bigger than possibly she, around 25 years of age and dressed in green, could afford in a day’s earning. She must have saved the coins for some days.
She was standing straight, eyes open, lips closed, while fixing the flag properly. She was a symbol of self-possession and confidence.
For hoisting the flags two days earlier, the nomad may be having her own economic reason of getting more ‘coins’ in the next two days to feed her family but we should know what our Quaid had demanded for the poor.
