Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has refused to vacate the forcibly occupied official residences of the housing ministry despite clear directives of the Supreme Court.
During the past three years, ANF has had three different director generals and all of them refused to hand over the office premises to the legal holder, the housing ministry.
As a procedural rule all governmental officials require the good offices of housing and works ministry for their accommodation, according to which ANF procured a house in bath Island.
According to the procedures, the then DG-ANF Brigadier Karin Bukhari handed over the house to newly appointed DG-ANF Brigadier Muhammad Bashir instead of its legal owners, the housing and works ministry.
It is pertinent to note that according to the housing and works regulations, ISI and foreign Affairs personnel have a right to transfer the premises to officials of their own respective departments.
Following the clear verdicts of the Supreme Court, the federal ministry of housing and works required all the previous 5-year record of rents and utility bills from ANF, something ANF has failed to comply with.
ANF has also started exerting its pressure over the housing ministry to transfer the residence to Brigadier Muhammad Wajid.
Trader injured by mobile snatchers: In an incident of mobile snatching, three unknown assailants fatally shot an LPG trader on the commercial Qazi Qayyum Road in City taluka on Sunday.
The injured Mobeen Shaikh was shifted in a serious condition to the Civil Hospital where the doctors are trying to save his life. Meanwhile, the traders at the Qazi Qayyum road staged a demonstration in protest and blocked the road. They demanded of the police to immediately arrest the culprits and to control the incidences of crime in the area.
MPA directs to expedite uplift work: Member Sindh Assembly Nishat Muhammad Zia Qadri on Sunday visited different development works including CC flooring in the lanes at Shah Faisal Coloney, District East here.
Speaking on the occasion, he directed the officials concerned to expedite the pace of ongoing development work in the district East, said a statement. MPA Qadri also directed to maintain standard during the development work.
