Vision to produce avionics experts

Pakistan International Airlines Chairman Rao Qamar Suleman will inaugurate first avionics institute of the country at PALPA head office on Friday. The Palpa Institute of Avionics and Management Sciences (PIAMS) has got affiliation with Karachi University recently. ‘This affiliation of the institute with Pakistan’s renowned university will help setting new benchmarks in the disciplines of avionics and aviation studies by awarding degree as well as certificate courses in avionics studies,’ Capt Suhail Baloch, Palpa President said in a statement. Now, he adds, highly qualified faculty at the college will educate students through methodology and curriculum of international standards and to also equip them with latest technology knowledge of avionics. The association is fulfilling a commitment made by the pilots’ community and feeling proud that with the passage of time at least a proper building has been developed for the education purposes, he said. The building of Palpa aviation college is equipped with all the modern facilities required for a world class aviation college – classrooms, auditorium, library, and recreational facilities like tennis and squash courts and swimming pool, he informed. While expressing hope, he said the institute will cater to the needs of specialists in avionics in the country and the time was not far when Pakistan will be producing pilots and avionics experts who will be serving in the international airlines across the globe.
