Hindu pilgrims who were earlier stopped at the Wagah Border from entering India staged a protest.
Following the protest, these pilgrims were allowed to travel to India after the immigration process is complete.
100 Hindu pilgrims had been stopped at the Wagah Border by Rangers due to issues with their immigration documents.
Rangers officials had said the pilgrims would be allowed to enter India when their No Objection Certificates (NOCs) were received.
On Thursday, Interior Minister Rehman Malik termed the migration of families belonging to Hindu community from Jacobabad as a conspiracy against Pakistan.
The minister, while replying to a question about the migration of 60 Hindu families to India, said the government had been determined to provide complete security to the minorities.
Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Thursday took notice of the purported migration of Hindu families from Jacobabad to India on account of the perceived law and order situation.
The chief minister directed the Minister for Excise, Mukesh Kumar Chawla, to visit Jacobabad and inquire into the matter and submit a report within three days.
A section of the media reported on Wednesday that around 60 Hindu families had migrated to India due to insecurity.
The report said that migration of Hindu families mostly in Jacobabad and Ghotki districts had started around six to eight months ago on account of the fear triggered by the poor law and order situation in addition to alleged forced conversions.
Very shameful
The Hindu Pandit community had to leave Kashmir because of persecution and now hey are leaving Pakistan for the same reasons. As minorities they are never safe .
We need to be ashamed of our acts and realize that it is their country as well. No one has a right to question their loyalty. If religious nuts (mullahs) do not want to live with them, they can move to Saudi Arabia and leave all of alone.
Its not MULLA dear; read the news correctly.
This is sad. Pakistan was created for a certain purpose that after the English left the Indian Subcontinent Muslims would become second class citizens against the Hindus who were not only in majority but also much more affluent than the Muslims at the time.
Mr. Jinnah joined Muslim League because of the broken promises of the Hindu Politicians of the time. He was the only capable statesman, a leader and a politicians the Muslims had at the time otherwise capable Muslim leaders like Maulana Azad were against the division of India.
By and large the minorities did well. They rose to be judges of the supreme and High Courts to name a few; Justice Cornelius, Justice Sidhwa and Justice Rana Baghwan Das. Pakistan Army has a Sikh Captain and there are many Hindu and Christian doctors. Bhandaras and Cowasjee of Pakistan are very well respected names. Pakistani Sikhs have made very good singers.
The white portion in the green flag is representative of the minorities. This comes first than the green which signifies the importance minorities are supposed to have in Pakistan.
Can the current Government seriously think the direction Pakistan has taken and what best can be done to change this path!
what to talk of Hindus; rulers policies have forced the majority of muslims to immigrate to other countries—No gas, no water, no electricity-They are deprived of fundamental rights.
Its not just Hindus Muslims are also mving out of pakistan becuase of rulers
A sad awakening for Pakistan indeed. A country that was formed on the basis of religious equality (listen to the Quaid's speech on Aug. 15, 1947) and in line with Quran's guidance on allowing full religious freedom to all in muslim lands. Ashamed is the least any Pakistani with half a brain cell (not too many left of those) can say. We have destroyed this country single handedly – RAW didnt do it, Mossad didnt do it, CIA didnt do it. We DID. Enjoy the taliban now. Remove the white stripe from the flag, take more Saudi money to open more wahabi madrassahs where our kids are brainwashed with a warped story of Islam. Shame on this nation.
