Seven locations declared sensitive on Youm-e-Ali

Intelligence agencies have declared seven locations as sensitive situated on the route of the procession of Youm-e-Ali (RA) which will be observed on Friday, Pakistan Today has learnt reliably.
According to details, intelligence agencies have submitted a report to the home department of Sindh and informed the department that the procession may come under attack by terrorists on any of the seven mentioned locations.
“Saddar Dawakhan, Empress Markeat, Shafique Building, DMC Signal, Light House, Boltan Market and Baghdadi Crossing are the sensitive points of the procession’s route”, said the report.
After the submission of the report by the intelligence agencies, the Sindh chief minister called a meeting on 8th of August for the security arrangements and ordered to provide foolproof security to the procession. The IG, Add IG, DG Rangers, DIGs, SSPs and representatives of intelligence agencies and other high-ups of Sindh government attended the meeting.
It was decided in the meeting that law enforcers will ensure the security arrangements for the procession and they will remain in touch with intelligence agencies to combat any untoward incidents.
However, all the arrangements have been finalised in the city to facilitate the participants of processions and majalis on Youm-e-Ali (RA).
The main procession of Youm-e-Ali (RA) will be taken out from Nishter Park. After passing through its traditional route of ‘Nishter Park, Sir Shah Nawaz Bhutto Road, Father Jaminis Road, MA Jinnah Road, Mansfield Street, again MA Jinnah Road, Boulton Market, Rampart Row Road, Nawab Mahabat Khanjee Road, it would culminate at Hussainian Iranian Imambargah, Kharadar.
Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has directed the Sindh IGP and Sindh DG Rangers to make foolproof security across the province for the processions and majalis of Youm-e-Ali (RA).
On the other hand, the IG held a meeting with the officials and prominent ulema to review security for the Youm-e-Ali (RA).
Another meeting of Rangers and police held at the Rangers’ headquarters to finalise security arrangements to maintain law and order in the city on the occasion.
A command and control room set up in the Nishter Park for security will monitor the Youm-e-Ali processions with 21 CCTV cameras from the surroundings of Nishter Park to Capri Cinema. The security personnel, including snipers, will be deployed at high-rise structures situated on the routes of Youm- e-Ali (RA) processions on Ramazan 21. All routes of the Youm-e-Ali (RA) procession would be sealed while snap checking would also be conducted at different spots.
The deputy inspector general police (Traffic) has announced an alternate traffic plan for the Youm-e-Ali while no vehicle will be permitted to park along the procession route. Special teams have also been constituted to make necessary arrangements on the routes of processions.
The authorities concerned have appealed the prominent ulema to promote peace and brotherhood and cooperate with the government to provide improved facilities to the participants of Youm-e-Ali (RA) processions and majalis.
