10 families of Bhagwandas Building get allotment orders

KMC Metropolitan Commissioner Matanat Ali Khan has said that the construction work at temporary residence for residents of Bhagwandas Building was going on speedily.
Temporary allotment orders have been given to 10 families and 45 residential units have been constructed.
He said this in a meeting held in his office about the setting up of temporary residence for residents of Bhagwandas Building, said a statement issued by the KMC on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by Director Accommodation Abdul Hafeez, Chief Engineer Building Shamim Ghauri and other high officials.
He said that the arrangement of water and sewerage has been made whereas electricity and gas would be provided soon. Metropolitan Commissioner said that the problem of shifting residents of Bhagwandas Building would be resolved soon along with basic facilities at temporary residence. He also said that this problem was being resolved on non-political basis and Bhagwandas Building was not suitable for residential purpose. He further said that residence to the residents of Bhagwandas Building has been provided nearer as per their demand where KMC was trying to provide basic facilities also.
He also said that KBCA has declared Bhagwandas Building dangerous and not suitable for residence and there were almost 63 families living in Bhagwandas Building who would be shifted to temporary residence gradually.
