Rawalpindi Division Commissioner Imdad Ullah Bosal has said that construction work on mega projects within Rawalpindi city would be started soon. These include Sixth Road flyover, Peerwadhai Road flyover and some underpass projects. The commissioner while chairing a meeting directed the departments concerned that solid steps should be taken to shift utility services from the proposed sites of the projects so that construction work could get underway.
The meeting was attended among other notables by Superintendent Engineer (SE) Punjab Highways, Director Development Commissioner Office and representatives of Pakistan Telecommunications Limited (PTCL), Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) and Sui gas.
Imdad Ullah issued special instructions to the authorities concerned that shifting of utility services from the proposed sites should be completed within the shortest possible time. He added that these projects would ensure smooth traffic flow on main city roads, namely Benazir Bhutto road and Peshawar road, and would help facilitate citizens considerably.
