The federal government is appointing Shafqat Jalil as the new press secretary to Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, a private TV channel reported on Thursday. According to the channel, the contract of Akram Shaheedi was expiring on July 31 and Mr Jalil would take over the office on August 1.
