Youth of this country, in particular, that of my home province Sindh is down and desperate. Our provincial government is not doing anything to ameliorate the fate of the youth in the province. Only the other day, one diplomat from the western world asked me if there was any youth ministry in your province, if so, then what that ministry was doing. After this very demanding question, I was mute for a while and told him to visit the website of the provincial government/department to learn about its activities for the promotion and development of the youth of this soil. He opined that he had learnt during his stay in this country, especially, in the capital city of Sindh, Karachi, the policy makers and decision-makers did not believe in the youth which was an asset of any nation.
I appeal to the ruling elite to believe in young people because young people have the power to lead and they must be provided with opportunities to lead and be prevented from committing suicides and resorting to drug addiction and alcoholism.
