Stringent security measures will be taken inside and outside all mosques, religious places and Imambargahs in the capital during the holy month of Ramadan.
The federal police have collected all necessary data of all religious places that come under their jurisdiction. The police have made foolproof security arrangements for month of Ramadan and policemen along with security guards as well as mosque guards will perform duties to ensure success of the security plan especially devised for worshippers.
The IGP has directed all police officials to ensure compliance of orders for security arrangements during the month of Ramazan. He ha directed station house officers (SHOs) to ask people in their areas to properly lock their houses keep the lights on during prayer timings.
As per the security plan, only one gate of a worship place would be kept open during the month of Ramazan. All mosques, religious places and Imambargahs in the federal capital will be covered in a security blanket during the sacred month of Ramadan in this regard.
POLICE CHALK OUT
COMPREHENSIVE SECURITY PLAN FOR RAMADAN
The Rawalpindi police have chalked out a comprehensive security plan for Ramadan.
According to the plan, additional police force would be deployed around 1,000 mosques during prayer times and sensitive places of the city to ensure security during Ramadan.
Services of 300 volunteers have also been sought in this regard. A senior police officer said that more than 1,500 police force would just perform duties outside the mosques. Parking near the mosques has also been banned. In order to ensure foolproof security around the city, the central police office has sought reserve force.
The implementation of the security plan would be supervised by CPO Rawalpindi Azhar Hamid Khokhar.
