The well-populated sector, F-6, has sunk into darkness as the streetlights have been out of order for several months and the residents have demanded of the higher authorities to repair them at the earliest.
Talking to APP, the residents of the area complained that streetlights were out of order due to negligence of the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
Aqib Ali, a resident of the area, complained that the out-of-order streetlights caused darkness which was increasing street crimes and road accidents. “Wild animals enter the sector and scream whole night,” he complained. Mohsin, another resident of the sector, said they had registered complaints to the CDA several times but to no avail.
The residents have demanded of the CDA to repair the out-of-order streetlights on priority.
The residents of Rawalpindi have expressed serious concern over low voltage accompanied by unscheduled power cut which multiplies miseries of the consumers.
The residents of Westridge subdivision, talking to INP, complained that unannounced load shedding had been extremely troublesome for them in this hot summer, adding that low voltage is beyond comprehension and damaging their electronic appliances.
They said that whenever they complain about low voltage, the IESCO officials say they were providing full voltage, but the low voltage had resulted in burning of electric appliances.
The consumers said that Wedstridge subdivision, particularly at night, received 180 volts and the situation was very irritating for them. They demanded the officials concerned take notice of the low voltage and ensure adequate voltage of electricity.
