The Supreme Court heard the contempt of court case against former law minister Babar Awan on Thursday.
A two-member bench of the apex court comprising Justice Ejaz Afzal and Justice Athar Saeed heard the case, a private TV channel reported.
Awan did not appear in the court on account of ill health and the advocate-on-record presented his medical certificate to the court and requested the bench to postpone his trial for a period of three weeks.
The advocate-on-record said that if his health permits him he would appear in court for the next hearing otherwise would submit his arguments in writing.
However, the court rejected the request to postpone the hearing for three weeks and adjourned it to July 24.
Moreover, the court directed Awan that he should inform about his health by July 23 and that he should ensure his appearance in court for the next hearing.

  1. Awan comtempt of court case started before that of the Prime Minister. The court dealt so swiftly with case of the PM and are all ready to start one with new PM yet Awan case is still pending. Is that dispensation of Justice.
