Photo exhibition opens at Lok Virsa

A photographic exhibition has been organized at National Heritage Museum here at Garden Avenue, Shakarparian.
The exhibition is held under the aegis of Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) in collaboration
With Lok Virsa (National Institute of Folk & Traditional Heritage), Ministry of National Heritage & Integration, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad.
The opening ceremony was performed by Commissioner Rawalpindi, Imdadullah Bosal as chief guest. Managing director TDCP Habibur Rehman Gilani and Lok Virsa’s Executive Director Khalid Javaid were also present on the occasion.
The exhibition presented works of two students from National College of Arts, Lahore Ubaid ur Rehman and Naeem Jatoi. They undertook an extensive tour of entire Pakistan in four months in cooperation with TDCP to capture scenic beauty, national monuments and cultures of different areas through the lens of camera.
Talking to media, the chief guest Imdadullah Bosal said “Youth is considered as backbone in any society and efforts of these young students are praiseworthy. We can promote our tourism by highlighting various aspects and colours of our diverse and beautiful culture”.
Speaking on the occasion, Managing Director TDCP Habibur Rehman Gilani appreciated the contribution of Lok Virsa management for their support and collaboration in holding the exhibition. In his remaks, Lok Virsa’s Executive Director Khalid Javaid lauded the efforts of the students for creating such a beautiful exhibition. He said “Lok Virsa’s major focus was currently on youth who was the future of Pakistan.
IESCO power suspension programme: The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) on Tuesday issued a power suspension programme for various areas of its region due to necessary maintenance and development work. According to an IESCO spokesman, power supply of the areas falling under following grid stations / feeders would remain suspended as under: July 4-9: From 07am to 12pm, Tench Bhatta feeder, Capt. Aamir feeder, Radio Pakistan feeder, Azizabad feeder, Tench Bhatta, Radio Pakistan, Dk Syedan, Azizabad and surrounding area; July 5-7-9: from 7am to 11am, Peshawar Road feeder, Millatabad feeder, Peshawar Road, Chour Chowk and Millatabad and July 10: from 7am to 11am, Saghri feeder, K/Syedan feeder, Redco feeder, Saghri, Mankiala, Bashndot, Kallar Syedan & Redco.
